I’m 8 years old and my Dad’s got dementia. It took a really long time for the doctors to work out what was wrong with him because he’s not old. Lots of people think only old people get dementia, but that’s not true. It’s easier now we know what it is. We told my teacher. I didn’t want to at first but now I think it was a good thing to do because I know she understands. I help dad out at home, like with reading or with using the TV and getting his music on the ipad. On weekends we do fun things together. Dad likes being outside and so do I, luckily! From Leela.
