Mum is living with dementia
"I’ve never met anyone else whose mum has dementia before. It feels like no one else’s mum has it."
My mum got dementia when I was 9. I’ve never met anyone else whose mum has dementia before. It feels like no one else’s mum has it. But my friend’s mum has cancer so we tell each other when we are upset about our mums and we know what it feels like. My mum gets upset lots and so does my dad. Mum used to come and help out at school but she doesn’t anymore because she gets tired all the time and gets confused a lot. One time, she called me by her sister’s name and that was weird. A lady came to our house to talk with us about mum’s dementia and she was nice. She said the doctors don’t know how to make mum’s dementia go away.
